After breast cancer radiation and a lumpectomy left her bust totally lopsided 12 years ago, Sommers sought out a doctor from the Far East, Dr. Kotaro Yoshimura. Upon examination, Sommers kept her sense of Chrissy Snow humor, noting to the doc, I bet you’ve never seen these big American whoppers before. The innovative Dr. Yoshimura has reportedly performed the stem cell augmentation successfully on over 500 patients, with excellent results for over five years.
Last August, Sommers finally had the procedure okayed by an independent medical board in the grand old U.S. of A, and was the very first patient to undergo the clinical trial. Essentially, fat and its stem cells are harvested from areas of the body and then injected into the breasts where the cancerous tissue was removed, thus creating a lovely reconstructed bosom. Ten more patients have been approved to undergo the experimental procedure at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. Sommers enthusiastically states.
